What is the OncInsights service?

OncInsights is an information service provided by Intervention Insights designed to provide your physician with molecularly targeted drugs based on the unique molecular composition of your cancer. Just as each person has a unique set of fingerprints, each person's cancer has its own molecular profile that may responds differently to various treatments. By analyzing a sample of your tumor, we identify the drugs and therapies that are best targeted to treating your cancer.

We are continuously improving our scientific methods, molecular information and drug knowledge to provide leading insights to inform your oncologist of treatment options which were designed to target the molecular signatures of your cancer. This information can assist your physician in better understanding the mechanisms that drive your disease and to identify therapeutic interventions that are targeted to the underlying biology of the cancer.

What is the OncInsights service not offering?

OncInsights is not offering a cure. The sad truth is that there are currently no guaranteed treatment solutions for this horrible disease. We certainly do not want to offer false hope. However, we do believe that the more information that your doctor has about your specific disease, the better opportunity they have to develop a treatment plan with the highest chance at targeting it.

Who is eligible for the OncInsights service?

Patients with reoccurring cancer who have failed previous treatment options or newly diagnosed patients with aggressive cancers. Patients are accepted no matter their cancer type as long as the biopsy required is part of their standard of care.

How does OncInsights work?

During a your standard care surgical procedure, a portion of your tumor will be sent to our CLIA laboratory for full molecular profiling of over 20,000 genes. We enter this data into our patented system to analyze and develop a custom report to assist your physician in developing a targeted treatment regimen. See the How OncInsights Works Overiew for more information.

Will my insurance cover OncInsights?

At this time, most insurance companies do not cover OncInsights. If your physician recommends you for OncInsights and you choose to enroll, you will need to purchase the service. See Costs for more information.

How long does it take to get the results?

It typically takes at least seven calendar days from the time your tumor sample is taken to receive results. The OncInsights report is sent to your physician who will contact you with results.

What do I do if my oncologist is not part of the Intervention Insights Partner Network?

If you oncologist is not currently a member of the Intervention Insights Partner Network, please ask your physician to contact us or see Contact Us.

How often does the OncInsights service work?

We make every effort to successfully deliver your OncInsights report in a timely manner. However, given the complexity of the service, the transportation of your tumor sample, the multi-step processing of your tissue and the frailty of tumor samples, we do experience failures which prohibit us from completing the development of your OncInsights report. In the event that this occurs with your report, the Intervention Insights customer service team will work to process a refund.
